Presentation Competition Dedicated to the 81st Anniversary of the Liberation of Odesa

On 10 April 2025, in honour of the 81st anniversary of the liberation of Odesa from the Romanian and German invaders, the Subject Committee for Social Sciences and Humanities of OTPC ONTU held a competition of student works (wall newspapers) dedicated to this momentous date, as well as a competition of student presentations. Lecturers Spirzhenko R. I., Myroshnychenko V. O., Muravskyi O. V., Dzhabrailov M. V. and Khrulov M. V. carried out extensive and fruitful work.

The number of entries submitted to the competition exceeded all expectations, and the competition jury had to work hard to select the most worthy among the best.

The themes of the wall newspapers covered all periods of the city's military history in 1941–1944: the heroic defence, the struggle of the underground fighters against the Romanian and German occupiers, and the liberation in April 1944. Following the results of the competition, the best wall newspapers were displayed in the third building.

In addition, under the guidance of lecturer Spirzhenko R. I., the College's “lecture hall” was held. In her speech, Raisa Ivanivna stressed that for every Odesan, 10 April is a special date. It was on this day in 1944 that the city was completely liberated from the German Nazi occupiers. This date has long become one of the symbols of Odesa, whose residents are known not only for their hospitality and humour but also for their love of freedom, courage, and readiness to sacrifice everything for the freedom of their city and their land.

The competition showed that student youth know, honour and remember their ancestors, and this inspires hope and optimism – a people that remembers and honours its history has a chance for the future!
