Steps towards strengthening international partnership

On 25 March 2026, during a working visit to the Communal State-Owned Enterprise “Almaty Multidisciplinary College” (Republic of Kazakhstan, Almaty), Serhii Mykolaiovych Petushenko, lecturer of the highest category and Candidate of Technical Sciences, held an instructional and practical seminar at the institution’s Competence Centre.

The event was organised for first-year students of specialty 07150900 “Installation and Operation of Refrigeration and Compressor Machines and Units”. The topic of the seminar, “How a Refrigeration Machine Works: From a Household Refrigerator to Industrial Systems”, covered both the basic principles of the refrigeration cycle and modern technical solutions used in industry.

The practical part of the event included a discussion of typical errors that arise during the operation of refrigeration equipment, as well as an analysis of real production situations. The students had the opportunity to ask questions and receive expert explanations about the specifics of operating modern refrigeration systems, which significantly increased their interest in the profession.

Particular emphasis was placed on shaping the professional thinking of future specialists. The main insight conveyed to the students was that about 80% of errors in industry are related not to complex technical failures, but to inattention to details that are formed at the very initial stage of training. That is why discipline, precision and an understanding of the basic principles of equipment operation are important.

Such meetings are of great importance for the professional training of students, as they not only broaden theoretical knowledge but also allow them to see the future profession through the eyes of a practising specialist.

Holding such events at Competence Centres is an important element of modern education, which combines theoretical training with practical experience and meets the current requirements of the labour market in the field of refrigeration technologies.
