On 12 March, literary readings in commemoration of T.H. Shevchenko, “And the Kobzar’s Word Soars over the Earth”, took place under the guidance of Iryna Rudets, a lecturer of the Subject Committee for Philological Disciplines. Students of groups 1 RP-12 and 1 MK-25/MI-06 took part in the literary readings.
During the event, the participants recalled the life and creative path of the great Ukrainian poet, artist and thinker Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko. His work became a symbol of national dignity, the striving for freedom and sincere love for one’s native land. The Kobzar’s word remains a powerful spiritual guidepost for Ukrainians to this day.
The students prepared substantive and interesting presentations in which they highlighted the main stages of the poet’s life, the significance of his work for shaping Ukrainian national consciousness and the relevance of Shevchenko’s ideas in the modern world. The participants also recited the Kobzar’s poems with insight and expressiveness, conveying the depth of feeling, the power of the word and the unbreakable spirit of the Ukrainian people.
Particularly active participants of the literary readings were Ariana Omelchenko, Myroslava Koniv, Kira Kulynych, Dmytro Tsykhanskyi, Kostiantyn Shcherbakov, Radion Kaluha and Yehor Myroshnichenko, who demonstrated sincere interest in Ukrainian literature, artistry and a high level of preparation.
During the event, the thought was repeatedly voiced that Shevchenko’s work resonates with Ukrainians’ hearts especially strongly today, when our state is going through difficult trials of war. His calls to fight for freedom, truth and dignity acquire a new resonance in modern Ukraine, inspiring the young generation to be conscious citizens and to cherish their native language, culture and historical memory.
The event became yet another confirmation that the Kobzar’s word lives in the hearts of Ukrainians, unites generations and helps preserve the spiritual strength of our people.
