On 14 January 2026, lecturers of the Subject Committee for Computer Engineering and Software Engineering Kryvchenko Yu. V. and Stohul V. M. held the master class “Raising Cybersecurity Awareness on the Internet: Protection from Phishing and Malware” for first-year students of the Computer Systems Division. During the event, students learned about current threats in the digital environment and about the most common methods of phishing attacks and ways of recognising them. The lecturers demonstrated practical examples of dangerous e-mails and websites, explained how malicious software works and gave advice on safe behaviour on the internet. Particular attention was paid to the rules for creating strong passwords, the use of two-factor authentication and the importance of regularly updating software. The master class was held in an interactive format: students actively asked questions, analysed real cases and received useful recommendations for protecting their own data. The event became an important step in developing digital literacy and a culture of safe internet use among first-year students.
