Lecturer of the Subject Committee for Computer Technologies and Software Engineering Zalapin Oleksii, together with students of the specialty “Cybersecurity”, made an educational visit to the newly created video analytics laboratory of the Communications Academy. The laboratory operates under a memorandum of cooperation between the educational institutions, providing practical training for future specialists in the field of information security.
The modern Kobi Software laboratory was established at the State University of Infrastructure and Technologies (SUIT) with the support of the IT company Kobi Software. It is equipped with advanced hardware and software systems for video analytics, including ZetPro analytical modules, which are widely used in projects such as “Safe City”, licence plate and face recognition, road traffic monitoring and the protection of critical infrastructure.
During the visit, the students were able to get acquainted with real-life scenarios of how security systems operate, work with an interactive event map, learn to configure video analytics equipment and analyse video streams in real time.
Associate Professor Serhii Staikutsa, head of the laboratory and assistant to the dean for partner cooperation, stressed the importance of practice in training specialists:
“Using a testing ground based on Kobi Software solutions makes it possible to integrate modern security technologies into education. Students work with real video analytics systems and build applied expertise – this is a response to the challenges of our time.”
Thanks to this cooperation, students gain not only theoretical knowledge but also the practical skills necessary for their future professional activity.
