On 24.02.2026, students and lecturers of the Energy Systems Division took part in an open lecture by Associate Professor of the Department of Refrigeration Units and Air Conditioning of ONTU, Candidate of Technical Sciences (PhD) – Nataliia Vitaliivna Zhykharieva.
Lecture topic: “Air Conditioning in Food Industry Enterprises”
During the lecture, those present examined modern ventilation and air conditioning systems in food industry enterprises, their operating principles and the requirements for sanitary and hygienic conditions. The students learned about typical technological solutions for maintaining the required microclimate, controlling humidity and temperature, cleaning the air of contaminants and ensuring energy efficiency. Particular attention was paid to the use of such systems in enterprises producing dairy products, meat and fish products, bakery products, confectionery products and beverages.
Nataliia Vitaliivna also demonstrated practical examples of the installation and maintenance of air conditioners and refrigeration units in production premises and gave a detailed tour of the ONTU air conditioning laboratory.
The lecture was useful for the students because it combined theoretical knowledge with real technological processes, and it allowed the lecturers to become familiar with current trends in the field of refrigeration and climate technologies. This contributed to a better understanding of the professional competencies required for work in food and industrial enterprises.
