The College students’ treasury of awards continues to grow!
On 17 February 2025, Stage II (regional) of the Junior Academy of Sciences, the “Engineering and Materials Science” division, was held online. Students of group 2MK-23, Yeva Rotar and Mariia Konstantynova, successfully defended their research papers and won prizes!
Yeva Rotar presented her project in the section “Materials and Additive Technologies” (research topic: “Natural Dyes for Textiles and Their Impact on the Environment and the Quality of Materials”). The student demonstrated a high level of preparation and took 3rd place among young researchers of the southern region in her field. The research was carried out at OTPC ONTU under the supervision of Viktoriia Kasadzhyk, lecturer of specialised light industry courses.
Mariia Konstantynova presented her project in the section “Production Technologies” (research topic: “Offloading Orthopaedic Insoles for Correcting the Load on the Foot”). The student demonstrated a high level of preparation and joined the ranks of the winners, earning an honourable 2nd place among the most significant young researchers of the Southern region in her research area. The research was carried out at OTPC ONTU under the academic supervision of Nataliia Kuzina, lecturer of specialised courses of the educational and professional programme “Fashion Industry”.
It is especially valuable that the student managed to skilfully combine several areas in her research – medicine (the influence of the foot’s nerve endings on the functioning of the body as a whole), features of orthopaedics, environmental aspects, the technology of manufacturing footwear elements, and her own professional interests in modelling and design of industrial products. Her example clearly shows that, with genuine interest and perseverance, one can achieve high results even in a field that is new to oneself.
On 20 February 2025, at Stage II (regional) of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine competition, held online, Yevheniia Bohomolova, a student of group 2TKh-80, successfully presented her research paper in the section “Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry” on the topic “A Study of the Organoleptic and Physico-Chemical Quality Indicators of Bread”, and, based on the results of her defence, took an honourable 3rd place.
The research was carried out at OTPC ONTU in laboratory conditions under the supervision of chemistry lecturer Tetiana Diakova. It is especially valuable that the student combined chemical analysis, microbiological research and, directly, her future profession in the field of “Production of Bread, Confectionery, Pasta and Food Concentrates”.
Participation in the Junior Academy of Sciences competition truly opens doors to new opportunities. It is an excellent platform for developing research abilities, critical thinking and a creative approach to problem solving. We congratulate our talented students and their research supervisors on their achievements in the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine! We wish you further success and new heights!
