29 January is the Remembrance Day of the Heroes of Kruty. Students of group 2RP-11 of the Separate Structural Subdivision “Odesa Technical Professional College of ONTU” held an educational event dedicated to the Remembrance Day of the Heroes of Kruty. During the event, students demonstrated their knowledge of the historical events connected with the Battle of Kruty, reflected on the historical reality of that time and of the present day and on the significance of the feat of Ukraine's young defenders, for, in the words of Oles Honchar, “a people that does not know its history is a people of the blind”. The students prepared presentations “Kruty Yesterday and Today: Parallels of History”, “Kruty: The Battle for Ukraine's Future” and “The Heroes of Kruty: A Lesson in Courage for Today's Youth”. Poetic lines and personal reflections on the sacrifice and courage of the young people who stood up in defence of the Motherland were heard. Particular emotional resonance was evoked by the words of Viacheslav Chornovil: “Ukraine begins with each of us”.
During the event it was stressed that “Kruty is not a defeat, it is a symbol of the indomitability of the Ukrainian spirit”, an example of self-sacrifice and love for one's native land.
