Group 2IM-07, together with group tutor Yuliia Serhiivna Kydrychenko, combined learning English with developing the ability to understand and recognise one’s own emotions. Together with the students, they watched clips from the animated film “Inside Out”, did interactive tasks, worked in groups and discussed how different emotions affect our behaviour, studies and communication.
Special attention was paid to why it is important to be able to recognise and name one’s emotions specifically in wartime, when psychological strain increases significantly. The ability to name feelings, understand them and respond appropriately is not a weakness but a skill that helps to remain resilient, support others and stay effective in study and in life.
The students actively took part in role-play exercises, identified their emotions, learned to talk about them in English and analysed situations in which emotional literacy helps to make better decisions.
