Literacy opens the mind, and compassion opens the heart

Student of Separate Structural Subdivision "Odesa Technical Professional College of ONTU" Tetiana Bezhenar (group 2RP-11), under the guidance of lecturer Burundukova M. M., took part in the All-Ukrainian essay competition “I Hear You: Supporting a Peer in Occupation”.

The competition was organised by the Almenda Centre for Civil Liberties in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, the Representation of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the Child Rights Protection Centre of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.

The competition aimed to draw society's attention to the problems of children living under occupation and to develop in the younger generation the skills of solidarity and of supporting their peers.

In her creative work, Tetiana demonstrated competent thinking, logical presentation of ideas, compassion, a civic stance and a sincere desire to support peers who have found themselves in the difficult conditions of occupation. Such an initiative develops the individual and fosters moral values and patriotic principles. We congratulate Tetiana Bezhenar on her active participation and wish her new creative achievements!
