Visit to the Odesa Museum of Western and Eastern Art

On 11 September, third-year students of the specialty Light Industry Technologies, as part of their classes in painting and costume element design, visited the Odesa Museum of Western and Eastern Art. The tour, organised by lecturers Polina KUZNETSOVA and Svitlana LAPCHAK, gave an opportunity to deepen knowledge and draw inspiration from the work of Ukrainian and international artists.

The central event of the visit was an introduction to the exhibition of the artist Serhii POLIANYCHKO “Tales: The Land Through the Veil of Reality”. His works, filled with symbols and philosophical reflections, demonstrated how art can unite people and give hope even in difficult times. A special atmosphere during the viewing was created by the music that inspires the author's creative work.

In addition to the main exhibition, the students had the chance to see other exhibitions, including:

Works by masters of ship modelling sport of the Odesa region.

Paintings from the 2nd International Watercolour Exhibition “United by Watercolour – 2025”, held in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Albums of pastels and prints by Bruno Piglhein, one of the founders of the Munich Secession.

Paintings by Serafym Charkin, in whose work the influence of French Cubists and Italian Futurists can be felt.

Such a tour became an important part of the educational process, since it not only broadened the students' outlook but also helped them better understand the connection between painting and design, as well as the significance of art in the modern world.
