Guardsmen of the Odesa region meet students of OTPC ONTU

Servicemen of the 11th Brigade named after Mykhailo Hrushevsky of the Southern Operational-Territorial Command of the National Guard of Ukraine held a meeting with students of one of Odesa's colleges on the eve of Independence Day of Ukraine.

As part of the event, aimed at the military-patriotic education of the younger generation, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by representatives of the 11th Brigade named after M. Hrushevsky of the NGU and the educational institution.

“We want young people to feel our support and to know: the Ukrainian military is nearby. It is important for us to pass on our own experience, share values and show that service is an honourable cause that begins with love for one's land,” one of the brigade's guardsmen said.

In addition, one of the soldiers of the 11th Brigade named after M. Hrushevsky of the NGU, call sign Bethar, told the students about the intricacies of the service of military dog handlers, working with dogs, the nuances of training, the importance of involving service dogs in guarding facilities, searching for explosives, prohibited substances and so on. Bethar was assisted by the year-and-a-half-old dog Mitiai, who aroused considerable interest among the students.

“During such meetings we understand young people better and give them the opportunity to feel part of a great cause – the defence of Ukraine. It is from these that a strong and conscious generation grows, one that will continue our struggle and work for the benefit of the state,” stressed a serviceman of the 11th Brigade named after M. Hrushevsky of the NGU.
